Diver and U.P. Native Delaney Schnell Earns Silver Medal in Tokyo Olympics

Written by Nate

An Upper Peninsula native/Team USA athlete was repping her home region and her home country proudly in the 202ONE Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo.

During this year’s rendition of the Summer Games, Delaney Schnell, a native out of Iron Mountain, was part of the silver-medal duo in part of her synchronized 10m platform diving event with her partner, Jessica Paratto.

Prior to being in the Tokyo Games, Schnell was originally from the U.P. before moving to Arizona, where she enrolled and competed at the University of Arizona in Tucson.

As mentioned in the tweet above, it is Team USA Diving’s first-ever medal won in the 10m event.

On behalf of all of us at PSE, we say congratulations to Delaney on repping the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and showing what UP Power is all about in the Olympics!
