The Chicago Bears are making WR Chase Claypool a healthy scratch for today’s game against the Denver Broncos, as per Ian Rapoport.
Claypool made comments criticizing the team’s use of him just a few days ago. He was asked if the Bears are best utilizing his talents.
“No,” Claypool said after a seven-second-long pause, via ESPN.
Claypool has four catches for 51 yards on the season. He had 14 catches for 140 yards in seven games with the Bears last season.
The Bears traded a second-round pick to the Steelers for Claypool last season. WR Equanimeous St. Brown is expected to be active for the first time this season.
The Bears also announced that rookie Tyson Bagent will be the No. 2 QB this week. Nathan Peterman has been the primary backup to Justin Fields so far this season.
The Bears are a complete mess. They are a franchise in turmoil.
