First reported in a tweet by Detroit Lions radio announcer Dan Miller, we got some sad news to report as superfan Donnie ‘Yooperman’ Stefanski has passed away.

He was 61 years old.

As a beloved and loyal fan of the Lions, Stefanski was most known for traveling to every home game 365 miles back-and-forth from his hometown of Goetzville for 25 years straight.

Goetzville is located east of I-75 in the Upper Peninsula, outside of St. Ignace.

‘Yooperman’ was also honored last season for attending his 200th game and was given two tickets to Super Bowl LIII in Atlanta to him and his wife, JoAnn.

Just celebrated his 40th wedding anniversary with JoAnn on Sunday, Stefanski is also survived by his son Adam, and daughters, Ashley and Megan.

He is also survived by many cousins, family members, and many diehard Lions fans who have known him throughout the years.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Yooperman’s family at this time.
