Did PSE’s Mike Rickard Win Auction to Fly into Space?

The wait is over and one lucky individual has won the chance to become this generation’s version of Daedelus by flying into space on Jeff Bezos’ upcoming spaceflight on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket. As readers know, money is no object when it comes to Pro Sports Extra’s expense account so guess who just put in the winning bid? A CNBC report notes:

Jeff Bezos’ space venture Blue Origin auctioned off a seat on its upcoming first crewed spaceflight on Saturday for $28 million.

The winning bidder, whose name wasn’t released, will fly to the edge of space with the Amazon founder and his brother Mark on Blue Origin’s New Shepard rocket scheduled to launch on July 20. The company said it will reveal the name of the auction winner in the coming weeks.

While the winner won’t be announced for some time, I can confirm that I didn’t win the auction despite placing a $5 million bid in cryptocurrency. Tragically, my $5 million bid didn’t make it and thanks to a sudden reversal of fortune, my $5 million is now worth $.50.00.
