After trading down with a couple AFC West teams in the second round, the Detroit Lions settled for pick #68 in the third round of this year’s NFL Draft.

And in a surprising twist, the Lions go quarterback and select Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker.

Hooker joins the Lions offense in which they were listed as one of the top ten best in the league last season under the leadership of current Detroit quarterback Jared Goff.

Though he is coming off a torn ACL that he suffered last season and is expected to sit for a couple seasons, Hooker has the opportunity to possibly take over as the starter once Goff’s contract expires.

Hooker will join the likes of recent Draft selections in running back Jahmyr Gibbs and tight end Sam LaPorta as Detroit’s newest additions to the Lions offense this season.
