Detroit Tigers Call Up Hard-Hitting Rookie

Written by TrevStone

The Detroit Tigers are calling up someone who has been killing it at the minor league level in an attempt to try and bring some power to the team.

They’re bringing in outfielder Kerry Carpenter from Triple-A Toledo according to manager A.J. Hinch.

He’ll more than likely make his debut tomorrow as the Guardians travel to Detroit. Detroit has to send a player down so outfielder Daz Cameron will be optioned to Toledo.

If you’d like to see the odds for the game as always Betway has you covered with the Tigers +140, Guardians -165.

Per MLive:

Carpenter, 24, was a 19th-round draft pick out of Virginia Tech in 2019. He wasn’t on the radar screen as a prospect until he started putting up monster power numbers this year at Double-A Erie. He’s done even better since a promotion to Triple-A Toledo, hitting .342 with a 1.100 OPS. He has eight homers, 11 doubles and a triple in 134 plate appearances.
