To help shore up their secondary, the Detroit Lions are bringing an interesting name.

Via a tweet by NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport, the Lions are reportedly signing cornerback Nickell Robert-Coleman after hosting a visit on Monday.

NFL fans may recognize Nickell’s name as he was on the giving end of the infamous pass interference non-call as a member of the Los Angeles Rams against the New Orleans Saints back in the 2018 season.

The former undrafted free agent out of USC comes to Detroit after spending the 2020 season with the Philadelphia Eagles. He currently has two career defensive touchdowns and six interceptions, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries.

Robey-Coleman will be joining the young, but improving Lions secondary that features cornerbacks Jeff Okudah, Amani Oruwariye and rookie Ifeatu Melifonwu, and safeties Tracy Walker, Will Harris and Dean Marlowe.
