Detroit Lions Trade Down to #12, Go With Alabama Running Back Jahmyr Gibbs

Written by Nate

Originally slated to pick at #6 tonight, the Detroit Lions have traded down with the Arizona Cardinals for two additional picks. One of those picks is at #12.

That pick #12 turns out to be running back Jamhyr Gibbs out of Alabama.

With the pick, Gibbs joins an arsenal of offensive talent that finished in the top ten in overall offensive rankings from the 2022 season.

He will join in the running back core that consists of D’Andre Swift, Craig Reynolds and free agent signing David Montgomery.

It’ll be interesting to see what the Lions will do with their next picks as they are now slated to pick at #18 in the first round, and also at #34 as a result of the trade with the Cardinals.
