If you are a Detroit Lions fan this might hit you a little bit, it’s never fun learning about death but especially when it’s someone young and thats the case here. We’ve had former NFL players die often but when someone young passes? It changes everything, especially when the cause of death isn’t released.
Recently Jessie Lemonier who played for the Chargers and Lions was found dead at the age of 25.
He appeared in seven games with the Lions during the 2021 season, finishing with 15 total tackles and 1.5 sacks.
“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of former Detroit Lion Jessie Lemonier,” the Lions said in a statement. “Jessie was a model teammate and wonderful young man who is gone far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
- Jessie was an NFL player who played for the Chargers and Lions.
- Jessie had signed a deal with the USFL in late 2022.
- Jessie died at 25 on January 26, 2023.
He was just days away from turning 26. It looks like Lemonier was trying to pursue a career in the United States Football League as he recently signed with the Houston Gamblers in December 2022.
He was traded to the USFL’s defending champions Birmingham Stallions and their season was scheduled to start this April.
Talk about this being pretty sad. We are sending our thoughts and prayers to his friends, family, and teammates. RIP!
