A Denver police officer was struck by a firetruck during the Nuggets NBA Championship parade celebration.
Denver SWAT Sgt. Justin Dodger was hit by a fire truck transporting several Nugget players near the end of the victory parade route and suffered severe injuries to his leg.
The Denver Police Department sent out a tweet stating the officer was in serious condition and stable with injuries to the lower leg. It also added the he was in “serious and stable condition.”
Dodge’s injuries are serious enough that he may now lose his leg.
The truck was carrying Nuggets players Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, as well as the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.
Sgt. Dodge was close to the firetruck and the vehicle began to roll up the back of his left leg, trapping him underneath.
