Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs is being sued for allegedly not paying his rent.
Diggs is being sued by his former landlord Rose Marie Yadegar for allegedly only paying one month of rent ($5,500) on a one-year lease. He vacated the residence on July 22, 2022, according to WFAA.
As a result, Yadegar is suing for up to $250,000. Diggs is accused of owing $33,500 in past rent and late payments, $11,000 in remaining payments on the lease, minor yard maintenance fees, $3,400 in property repairs, deep cleaning carpets for more than $500, and legal fees for the eviction that totaled $2,500, according to the same report.
The lawsuit claims the lease Diggs signed requires him to also pay legal fees in the event a situation like the current one happens.
In response to the lawsuit, Diggs’ attorney Scott Becker has denied Yadegar’s claims and demanded proof.
Becker also said that the unpaid rent is due to “misunderstanding or miscommunication,” as Diggs apparently thought this “matter was completely resolved.”
During his career thus far, Diggs has racked up 169 tackles, 49 pass defenses, and an incredible 17 interceptions. He was drafted by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
