The Indianapolis Colts have waived LB Shaquille Leonard in a surprise move on Tuesday.
Leonard was a three-time first-team AP All-Pro, three-time Pro Bowler and 2018 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Leonard has started nine of the Colts 10 games this season. He has 65 total tackles for the season.
The Colts selected Leonard in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. He set a team record with 163 tackles in his rookie season and added two interceptions, four forced fumbles, 12 tackles for a loss and seven sacks.
Leonard earned his third AP All-Pro selection in 2021, while dealing with ankle pain all year. He underwent two procedures in 2022. One in June and another in November.
The 28 year-old Leonard had complained about playing time earlier this month and now will available to be signed by another team.
Leonard is definitely worth a look by a contending. He would look great in Eagles green. Howie Roseman could look into adding him.
