According to Outkick’s Dan Dakich, who cited Colts sources, McDaniels’ wife Laura made him reject an offer from team owner Jim Irsay due to some odd behavior put on display at their home in Massachusetts, which included an absurdly long bathroom break.
McDaniels ended being hired as Head Coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. He struggled in his first season with them, as they fell short of the playoffs.
This is quite possibly the weirdest reason someone has ever turned a job down in the history of both jobs and weirdness.
Something about Irsay must have rubbed her the wrong way. He is in his 60’s and may have spent awhile in the bathroom due to health reasons.
Irsay is a odd guy and makes news with many questionable decisions with his team. McDaniels is not a good Head Coach in my opinion. Imagine the craziness, of these two worked together.
