New Indianapolis Colts Head Coach Shane Steichen brought up Eagles QB Jalen Hurts while addressing a question about quarterbacks.

Steichen said said one box his future QB must check is his love of the game and mentioned Jalen Hurts as part of his answer.

“You’ve got to be the first one in, the last one to leave,” he said. “As these guys in Philly know, Jalen was in there at freakin’ 6 o’clock. He’d be there until 9:30.

“That’s what it looks like. You want to play in this league for a long time and be successful? You’ve got to have that mindset every single day that I’m going to give it everything I’ve got and give it everything I can.”

The Colts will be one of the teams in shopping in the quarterback market. Hurts is the template that Steichen is seeking.

Steichen leaves behind a successful legacy as the Eagles offensive coordinator. He spoke of his time in Philadelphia.

“I have a lot of good things to say about Philadelphia,” he said. “The organization was phenomenal, first-class organization with how they ran the operations. And then just the comradery with the staff and the team and the players, I thought it was phenomenal.

“When you get the buy-in from everybody, that’s when teams can become special. But you have to do a hell of a job of being consistent with your message every single day and doubling down on that stuff.”

Shane Steichen was a big part of the Eagles and I believe he will do a good job in Indianapolis.
