The College basketball season has tipped off and it’s time to get rolling with some future bets this upcoming season. Who is the best value to bet on to win the National Championship? Well I am here to help.
According to oddsshark, Gonzaga is the favorite to win the national championship at +550 odds. To be honest, I wish it was a little lower because I do think this year is more of a toss-up. However, I do like them a lot this year. I think that there was so much pressure for them to win last year which means it would be very natural for them to win it all this year, with the “less talented” team, even though they did just get the number one recruit in basketball. If the guard play is strong, I truly do think they will take it home. Put some money here. However, if you really want to take a gamble. Wait for the game vs Texas. If Gonzaga loses there, their value will lower.
Michigan is a weird one here, because on oddshark they are +800, but on other sites they have way better odds. If it’s anywhere in the 1000’s, try to put some there
Now for more value plays:
Speaking of the devil… I like this a lot. A veteran team all-around with great playmakers, especially at the guard play. Andrew Jones is back for his 6th year and the talent/leadership can propel a march run. The only question they really have, Chris Beard. How will the players adjust to the new coach? If it’s for the better, that will be fantastic. Get this bet in before the game vs Gonzaga, because if they win, those odds will increase.
Coach K’s last dance. I mean c’mon now. I hate Duke, but I know a last dance like this can easily lead to a championship. This Duke team also has depth, and Banchero is legit… very legit. You have to put money on this much anticipated last ride.
Long shot plays:
Buddy Boeheim. If this guy gets hot in March, who knows what happens. This Syracuse team also has the potential to shoot the lights out this year. Shooters like Buddy Boeheim, Joe Girard, Jimmy Boeheim and Cole Swider. They have the options finally to knock it down from 3. This team also has experience which will come in handy in the big dance. Yes, they lost Gurrier and Richmond to the transfer portal, but freshmen, Benny Williams, off the bench can provide that athletic spart Gurrier brought. Richmond, however, is a different story. His defense will be missed for sure. Also, never count out the zone in March.
I would not be surprised if they win the PAC-12. Yes, there is UCLA, but that also is a case of a team getting hot at the right time. Who knows how they will hold up this year. Oregon has a strong core of seniors with Will Richardson and Eric Williams. Three strong transfer acquisitions with Quincy Gurrier, Jacob Young and De’vion Harmon will all make a big impact. Plus, freshman big-man Nate Bittle, they have the weapons. Be on the lookout for them. Sprinkle some here.
Packed seats, bouncing o’s, buzzer beaters. They are all back. We sleep in May. Enjoy the madness!
