For the Detroit Lions, it has been a rough 48 hours for the team regarding numerous injuries after their 37-31 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks. However, there is one major injury that may affect the secondary for the whole season.
Per multiple posts on social media, defensive back CJ Gardner-Johnson could potentially miss the rest of the 2023 season with torn pectoral muscle.
This piece of news comes months after Gardner-Johnson avoided a season-ending knee injury during training camp, and had only played in one full game this season for Detroit.
The team will look to fellow defensive backs Tracy Walker III, Kerby Joseph, Ifeatu Melifonwu and rookie Brian Branch to fill in the void for Gardner-Johnson.
