Carolina Panthers owner embarrassed to have given Matt Rhule a $62 million contract

They call it buyers remorse. It’s what Carolina Panthers owner David Tepper is going through.

Less than two years after giving Matt Rhule a seven-year, $62 million deal to become the Panthers head coach, the owner is now considered “embarrassed” to have given him that deal.

Under the direction of Rhule, the Panthers are 10-21 combined; they are 5-10 this season and reports of Rhule creating a volatile work environment have surfaced.

The Panthers have gone through three quarterbacks this season with the latest being Cam Newton, but his return to the team hasn’t helped the team out.

If an owner is feeling embarrassed about giving a head coach that large of a deal, it likely sounds like Rhule should be starting to clean out his office and prep for his next job.
