Williams was 18-of-25 passing for 278 yards and four touchdown passes, but freshman WR Zachariah Branch stole the spotlight from the reigning Heisman Trophy winner with an impressive performance.

Branch scored two touchdowns, one as a kickoff returner and one as receiver. He had 232 all-purpose yards. Branch had four catches for 58 yards. Washington had two catches for 85 yards for the game.

USC QB Williams is the favorite to be the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He is coming off a Heisman-winning sophomore season that saw him throw for 4,537 yards and 42 touchdowns against five interceptions.

Adding Branch to Williams and USC’s talented offense will make for a difficult challenge for opposing defenses.

USC will be back in action next Saturday night when they host the Nevada Wolfpack.
