Bryce Harper Hits 18th Homer As Phillies Rout The Braves

Bryce Harper hit his 18th homer, an opposite-field shot to left in the third inning, to put the Phillies up 3-1.

The Phillies blasted 5 home runs in a 7-1 victory over the Braves last night. The Phillies are now 82-68 on the season and lead the Diamondbacks by 3½ games for the fourth-seed in NL playoff race.

Phillies slugger Kyle Schwarber hit a 483-foot two-run homer that cleared the top of the Chop House restaurant in right field at Truist Park. It was Schwarber’s 45th home run of the season.

J.T. Realmuto, Nick Castellanos and Johan Rojas also homered as the Phillies won the opener of a three-game series against the Braves.

Zack Wheeler picked up the win for the Phillies. He gave up one run and three hits in six innings, while notching his 12th win of the season.
