Philadelphia Phillies first baseman Bryce Harper was ejected in the bottom of the third inning tonight’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Harper did not offer at the pitch from Pirates starting pitcher Luis Ortiz. The bat barely left Harper’s shoulder. It should not have been ruled a swing.
An angry and pissed off Bryce Harper walked all the way up the third base line gesturing and screaming at Hernandez, appearing to say, “That’s bull—-” and “that’s so (bleeping) weak,” among other things.
Hernandez ejected Harper from the game. He walked off the field to a loud ovation and threw his helmet into the stands. A young kid ended up with it and wore it the rest of the game.
Harper later on signed the helmet for the fan.
Harper walked in his first at bat of the game. Harper has 21 home runs, 72 RBIs and a .296 batting average on the season.
