Philadelphia Phillies star slugger Bryce Harper hit three home runs in four at bats to lead his team to a 9-4 victory over the Cincinnati Reds.

Harper was 0 for 11 to start the season. In first plate appearance tonight, Harper blasted a pitch from Reds starter Graham Ashcraft 420-feet over the center field wall to put the Phillies up 1-0.

In the fourth inning, Harper belted another home run over the right field wall to make the score 2-0.

In the bottom of the seventh with the bases loaded, Harper launched a 422-foot shot to right-center for a grand Slam to put the Phillies up 8-1.

Spencer Turnbull got the start and went 5 innings allowing no earned runs, while striking out 7. Ricardo Pinto came in pitched the final four innings allowing 2 runs over four innings in striking out 4.

This was Harper’s 26th career multi-homer game and second three homer game in his career.

Brandon Marsh had 3 hits and hit his second homer of the season. The Phillies had 8 hits on the night.

This was the Phillies second win of the season and Harper led the way going 3-for-4 with three home runs and 6 RBIs.
