Browns Star Myles Garrett Has High Praise For The Eagles

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett hopes his team can follow the recipe of the NFC Champion Philadelphia Eagles.

“Hope we can make this consistent, make this a group that can be feared because we’re going to be here for a long time, we’re going to be consistently good for a long time and I feel like the Eagles have kind of the recipe,” Garrett told the Akron Beacon Journal.

“They have their guys who are mainstays and who’ve been there for a long time and they got some new additions here and there, but you have guys that you know, ‘Well, damn, we’re facing the Eagles defensive line, we got to buckle up, we got to get ready.’ I’m hoping that we can put that same fear into people.”

The Browns hired Jim Schwartz as the new defensive coordinator and signed Dalvin Tomlinson and Ogbo Okoronkwo to join Garrett on the defensive line in 2023.

The Eagles won a Super Bowl with Schwartz as their defensive coordinator in 2017. They went back to the Super Bowl last season.

That kind of success has eluded the Browns, so it’s not hard to understand why they’d see that as something to emulate in 2023 and beyond.

Garrett signed a five-year, $125 million contract extension with the Browns in July 2020, making him one of the highest-paid defensive players in NFL history.

While his career has not been without controversy, he remains a key player for the Browns and is widely regarded as one of the best defensive ends in the league.
