Written by TrevStone

Nothing worse than waking up and finding out that you no longer have a job and sometime that happens in the professional sports world also. Not only your day to days. You can one day be making millions a year to going to making nothing over night.

Garrett Temple has found out the hard way. He was a 14-year veteran at the time he was waived by the New Orleans Pelicans.

This comes right before his $5.4 million contract would have been fully guaranteed on July 7.

Imagine that? Literally thinking you’re about to get this $5M and then boom, you wake up and that is gone.

The 37-year-old has played for 11 franchises over the course of a 14-year career and spent the last two seasons with the Pelicans. He appeared in 25 games last term, playing a total of 84 games, averaging 4.3 points a night in 15 minutes per game.
