BREAKING: Shohei Ohtani Out For The Season

Written by Tony Ghaul

The Los Angeles Angels announce that superstar Shohei Ohtani has been placed on the injured list with an oblique injury and will be out for the remainder of the season, AP per MLB.com.

It was reported that Ohtani’s locker had been cleaned out yesterday and that the Angels would comment on it today.

Ohtani has not played since Sept. 3 because of the oblique injury. The Angels had continued to list him as day-to-day since he initially hurt his oblique taking batting practice on Sept. 4, and in recent days he had gone through pregame workouts but was unable to play in the actual game.

Ohtani also has a torn ligament in his right (pitching) elbow. Tommy John surgery is the usual treatment for torn elbow ligaments but not always.

Ohtani will be a free agent this offseason. It’s likely that he’s played his last game with the Los Angeles Angels.
