UPDATE:
The head of the Police Officers Union has confirmed that officers from Atlanta Police Department’s Zones 3 and 6 have walked off the job late Wednesday afternoon and are not responding to calls for service.
Vince Chapman, southeast regional director of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers said that police officers have stopped answering calls midshaft, in response to charges being filed against former Officer Garrett Rolfe who is accused of the murder of Rayshard Brooks.
A source within the Atlanta Police Department was referenced by the website decaturish.com that the Atlanta Police Department is currently requesting assistance from outside jurisdictions for support however these requests are currently being denied.
Atlanta Police Department has yet to release an official comment regarding the officer walkout.
