Earlier this week, it was reported that a hiker along the Appalachian Trail said he believes he saw Laundrie near the border of North Carolina and Tennessee. Since then, there have been even more reports of Brian Laundrie being spotted throughout the state of North Carolina. According to the Haywood County Sheriff’s office, they have received over a dozen reports of Laundrie being spotted.
A statement from the Haywood County Sheriff’s office in North Carolina said the following:
In a statement, the Sheriff’s Office said that it has “received a number of calls regarding the sighting of Brian Laundrie over the past several days,” but that each sighting was investigated “to no avail”.
Local authorities continue to search southwest Florida in what has now become a nation-wide manhunt for Brian Laundrie. Renowned reality tv star Dog the Bounty Hunter is also on the case and commented recently that he will working towards shifting the hunt towards the Appalachian region near the North Carolina, Virginia and Tenneesee borders. Dog has claimed he has received numerous amounts of tips from individuals claiming they have seen Brian Laundrie in this region.
