Free agent center Jahlil Okafor has just agreed to a two year deal with the Detroit Pistons. He has agreed to a vet minimum deal according to Rob Beard of The Detroit News.
In 30 games last season with the Pelicans Okafor averaged 8.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.
Okafor was drafted with the 3rd pick in the 2015 NBA draft and has been considered a bust. I like the move. Detroit is in a rebuild and with Okafor being 24 he still has a little time to turn his career around. And if he doesn’t, he can offer advice to Detroit’s young guns.
This comes moments after Detroit signed Mason Plumlee.
