BREAKING: Former MPD Officer Derek Chauvin Taken Into Police Custody For George Floyd’s Death

Former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has just been arrested on Friday days after video circulated of him holding his knee to George Floyd’s neck for at least eight minutes before Floyd died. County Attorney Mike Freeman announced a news conference for 1 p.m. Friday at the Ridgedale Public Library to announce a “major development” in the case. Harrington only mentioned that one officer had been arrested; no word yet on the other three Minneapolis police officers who have been fired.  Original Post: A video taken by an onlooker on Monday evening shows a Minneapolis police officer keeping his knee on the neck of a motionless, moaning man at the foot of a police car. The man later died. “Officers were advised that the suspect was sitting on top of a blue car and appeared to be under the influence,” the statement said. “Two officers arrived and located the suspect, a male believed to be in his 40s, in his car.
