BREAKING: Cleveland Browns Sign Veteran Running Back

Written by Tony Ghaul

The Cleveland Browns signing RB Kareem Hunt to 1-year deal worth up to $4M, as per Tom Pelissero.

Hunt was a unsigned free agent, but played with the Browns for the past four seasons. He was the Browns No. 2 running back. Hunt would spell the Browns top RB Nick Chubb.

Chubb had a gruesome season ending knee injury in this past week’s Monday Night loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Hunt rushed for 468 yards and three touchdowns last season on a career-low 3.8 yards per carry for the Browns last season.

Browns Head Coach Kevin Stefanski said that Hunt will back up Jerome Ford, who rushed for 106 yards in Monday Night’s loss.

Hunt was selected in the third-round of the 2017 NFL draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. He won the NFL rushing title in 2017, his rookie year. Hunt rushed for 1,327 yards that season.
