During tonight’s Thursday Night Football game between the Arizona Cardinals and New Orleans Saints, a big trade happened that involved one superstar running back.

Per Ari Meirov and ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Carolina Panthers have traded running back Christian McCaffrey to the San Francisco 49ers.

Schefter stated in his tweet that the deal includes 2023 second, third, and fourth round draft picks and a 2024 fifth-round pick.

The former 2017 first round draft pick will be heading back to the Bay Area, where he played his college career at Stanford University.

Through six games this season, McCaffrey currently has 393 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

As a result of this move, McCaffrey will join up in the running back core consisting of Jeff Wilson Jr., Tevin Coleman, Tyrion Price-James, and fullback Kyle Juszczyk. Opening week starter Elijah Mitchell is currently on injured reserve.
