BREAKING: Carlos Correa will sign a three-year, $105.3 million deal with the Minnesota Twins

Written by Doug Rush

Carlos Correa finally made a decision on where he will play for the 2022 season. And it wasn’t the team everyone thought it would be.

Correa is headed to the Twin Cities and will sign a three-year, $105.3 million deal with the Minnesota Twins.

Correa can potentially become a free agent again after the 2023 season and try for another long-term deal.

Some felt the New York Yankees were a possible favorite, but once they made the trade to get Isiah Kiner-Falefa from the Minnesota Twins, the idea of Correa going to the Yankees died down.

The Houston Astros were thought to have been able to retain Correa as well, but that never seemed to happen.

Even the Baltimore Orioles were thinking of making a run for Correa, but clearly, that didn’t happen.

With Correa signing, the last major free agent left on the board is Trevor Story, who has the Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and San Francisco Giants interested in him and all possible front runners.
