Brock Purdy did what people thought was impossible – drafted with the last pick in the draft, Purdy played outstanding and helped lead the 49ers to the NFC Championship where he got hurt very early in the game.
At first it seemed like he might be ready for this upcoming season but now he has hit a setback and the doctors are unsure if he will be ready for day one.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Purdy met with Dr. Keith Meister this week and was advised to postpone the operation because of inflammation in the joint.

Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated in his end-of-season press conference that the team was comfortable going into the season with Purdy and Trey Lance as the top two QBs, and that a third veteran QB wouldn’t be a high-profile player.
