Darrell Bevell just fired Detroit’s young head coach whose been doing amazing things with special teams this year, yeah, Brayden Coombs.
Why? Because he didn’t tell Bevell he was going to do a fake punt on fourth down which ended up being short by inches.
I can confirm Brayden Coombs was fired over calling a fake punt without Darrell Bevell's knowledge or approval, per team source. Bevell made the decision to fire Coombs and it was approved by Rod Wood.

Coombs was trying to put us in a position to win. I can’t believe this. Fans wanted one coach back more than anyone, Coombs. And Bevell went and put his stamp on the team.

Yesterday I said that I loved the fake call. Then I said I wanted Bevell in Detroit long term.. I can’t be anymore clear now, I no longer want Bevell in Detroit.
