Are bookies scrambling to make odds on the likelihood of Bill Cosby getting shot? That’s the question I’ve asked myself after hearing a variety of women express their total disgust at Cosby being released from prison. In case you’ve been binge-watching The Cosby Show for the last two days, the Pennsylvania Appellate Court overturned the sexual assault conviction for “America’s Rapist Dad”. According to The New York Times:
Bill Cosby was released from prison Wednesday after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his 2018 conviction for sexual assault, a dramatic reversal in one of the first high-profile criminal trials of the #MeToo era.
The Times story noted:
Mr. Cosby had served three years of a three- to 10-year sentence at a maximum-security prison outside Philadelphia when the court ruled that a “non-prosecution agreement” with a previous prosecutor meant that Mr. Cosby should not have been charged in the case.
The 83-year-old (who rumor has it may embark on a comedy tour) has to be considered someone with a short lease on life, not only due to his advanced years, but due to the people who feel he escaped justice. The New York Times report pointed out that:
while more than 50 women across the nation have accused Mr. Cosby of sexual assault and misconduct, statutes of limitations in their cases makes further prosecutions unlikely.
As someone who did time in federal prison for bank robbery (see my book Laughing All the Way to the Bank (Robbery): How an Attorney Survived Prison for more details), I can verify that inmates do not take kindly to sexual predators whether their victims are children or women. Cosby no doubt was kept in protective custody or his time in Con College would be about the same as a Jell-O Pudding Pop on a hot summer sidewalk.
Needless to say, there will be no shortage of people looking to get revenge on Cosby, but will Vegas book odds on the likelihood? I doubt it but you can be sure that underground sites may do so. In the interest of mathematics, I’d like to post potential odds.
Personally, I think it’s only a matter of time before someone sends Cosby on his way, but the method is worth betting on:

Gentle reader, I am not recommending anyone pursue street justice on Bill “POS” Cosby. However, as Clarence Darrow once wrote “All men have an emotion to kill; when they strongly dislike some one they involuntarily wish he was dead. I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.“
