It’s like a middle school relationship between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers tried immensely to move Ben Simmons during free agency, before the draft, during the draft and even after the draft. They 100% wanted Ben Simmons out of Philly.

Then came the problem with what the 76ers wanted for Ben Simmons. Philly wanted 3-4 first round picks and a couple good players for Ben, they thought he was worth that much and thought people would bite. Nobody took a chance on that kind of offer for Ben Simmons.

Ben Simmons is a 6’11 point guard that can do everything on the floor but shoot the ball effectively. It was known that Simmons was a poor shooter but not as known until the 2021 NBA Playoffs. It got to the point when they HAD to take Ben Simmons off the court because they could not take a chance on him getting fouled and going to the free throw line.

Even Simmons knew that he did not want to be fouled because he had no confidence to go to the free throw line and make even one free throw. Philly did not want to have a STAR Player on their team anymore that had that bad of a weakness to his game.

Months later… Ben Simmons is still currently on the Philadelphia 76ers because nobody wants to trade for him. Since Philly is not getting what they want for him, now they want him back on the team and to come to training camp.

Since Philly did not want Simmons before, Simmons says you can’t have me now.

Ben Simmons reportedly wants to be traded to one of the three California teams, Warriors, Lakers and Clippers. I do not think that any one of those teams has the resources or capital to offer for Ben Simmons at this time.

Simmons can be fined $227,613 each day he does not participate in training camp.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this ends, who gets what they want between Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers.
