Are we really surprised? The two best teams in baseball all season long will be facing off Thursday night at 9 pm eastern time with the winner going to to the NLCS. It really does not get better than this. If there were no such thing as the American League and the National League, these two teams would have been facing off in the World Series, instead we get them in a Game 5 Scenario.

This is the biggest game in the San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers history as this is the first time these two teams have met in the postseason since being in the NL West together. The Giants have the edge when you combine the regular season series and postseason series 12-11, and that one game difference is what got them the NL West Division in the regular season. It’s tough tough to see who has more pressure when it comes to winning this winner-take-all game 5.

On one hand you have the Giants who did in fact finish with the best record in baseball, but did not have any preseason expectation whatsoever. They won the division over the Dodgers so it feels like you got to beat them in the postseason as well.

On the other hand, you have the Dodgers. The defending World Series Champion who was the favorite coming into the 2021 season, who also added Ace, Max Scherzer, and MVP Candidate, Trea Turner. Yes, they lost to the Giants in the regular season, but they have all-star after all-star on the roster.

The pitching matchup is set with Julio Urias taking the mound for the Dodgers, while Giants Ace, Logan Webb is handed the ball for San Francisco. Both starters won their perspective matchups in this series with Webb taking game 1 for the Giants and Urias taking game 2 for the Dodgers. The winner of this game will take on the Atlanta Braves in the NLCS starting on Saturday. I already can’t wait for Thursday.

Prediction: Giants 2, Dodgers 1

This game will be a dogfight from start to finish. The leash on both Starters will be so slim, but I expect both of them to perform off the charts. At the end of the day, home-field advantage helps the Giants and lead them to victory, which might shock the world even though they are home.

P.S. It’s unfortunate that Thursday Night Football will interfere with this game as this is the game of the year for baseball, so hopefully ratings are still good for this game. Also look at this disgusting pitch from Dodgers Pitcher, Brusdar Graterol.
