With Deshaun Watson now in place to be traded to the Cleveland Browns, they have to now trade Baker Mayfield.
Initially, the Browns weren’t going to trade Mayfield after he felt like the two sides relationship was not reconcilable. But after Watson agreed to the trade with the Browns, that meant Mayfield needed to be accommodated out of Cleveland.
Mayfield has reportedly told the Browns that he wants to be traded to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Colts now have an opening at quarterback after they traded Carson Wentz to the Washington Commanders. They had been linked to a possible trade for Jimmy Garoppolo with the San Francisco 49ers and also had been talking to free agent veteran Jameis Winston.
The other team that is interested in Mayfield is the Seattle Seahawks, who traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos and have Drew Lock as their tentative starter, but if Mayfield doesn’t get his wish to go to Indianapolis, Seattle could be an option as well.
With Watson set to come to Cleveland, now it’s a matter of where Mayfield lands next.
