Has Baker Mayfield played his last game with the Cleveland Browns?
While the starting quarterback of Cleveland is out for Week 18 after getting surgery on his shoulder, there’s talk now that things between Mayfield and Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski aren’t good and it could lead to a possible trade in the off-season.
Trading Mayfield off a down season and one with an injury would be a tough sell for Cleveland. But then again, there could be teams out there who are in need of a quarterback and might pull the trigger.
The Washington Football Team (until February 2) are definitely one. The Houston Texans are another. As are the Pittsburgh Steelers, although it’s hard to imagine the Browns sending their quarterback to a hated rival. There’s also the New Orleans Saints and the Denver Broncos who are in need too if they don’t want to go the draft route.
And what if teams wanted to play quarterback swap; like the Minnesota Vikings with Kirk Cousins or the New York Giants with Daniel Jones.
But that’s if Mayfield does request a trade out of Cleveland. If he does, you’d have to think that the Browns will have some options if they want to move on from their former number one overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft.
