The start of the new NFL league year and free agency period is just around the corner, and one player is already being linked to his hometown team on Twitter.

Free agent wide receiver Allen Robinson II is possibly on his way to be joining division rival Detroit Lions after liking some tweets from Lions fans that are hoping to get Robinson to play for his home team.

Here are a couple of them:

Robinson, who is a native of Detroit, is coming off his worst season of his career after catching 410 yards and only one touchdown pass with Lionsā€™ division rival, Chicago Bears. The 2021 stats are a big drop after catching 102 passes for over 1,200 receiving yards in 2020.

Even after signing Josh Reynolds to a two-year extension, Robinson home to Detroit could help fill in depth for the Lionsā€™s receiving room.

Along with Reynolds, Robinson would be able to join the corps with the likes of a likely 2022 draft pick, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Tom Kennedy, and tight ends TJ Hockenson and Brock Wright.
