Alabama Rumored To Be Tampering With Miami Hurricanes QB

Written by Tony Ghaul

The Alabama Crimson Tide is rumored to be tampering with Miami Hurricanes QB Tyler Van Dyke. The issue with the alleged contact is that Van Dyke has not yet entered the transfer portal.

Alabama is in transition at the QB position, after losing Heisman winner and potential No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young.

Young led Alabama to an SEC title and a national championship game appearance over the last two seasons.

The current roster includes redshirt sophomore Jalen Milroe, who saw action last year when Young went down with an injury and a trio of freshmen.

Rumors are now circulating Miami message boards, with some saying that new Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees has already been in contact with Van Dyke.

If true, that would violate tampering rules as Van Dyke is not yet in the transfer portal.

Van Dyke had an incredible freshman season, throwing for just under 3,000 yards and 25 touchdowns. His production fell off a bit in Year 2, as he saw a drop to 1,835 yards and just 10 scores as the Hurricanes went 5-7.
