In an unusual circumstance, the Detroit Lions traded up in the second round with rival Green Bay Packers from pick #48 to pick #45.
The pick they received at #45 turned out to be Alabama defensive back Brian Branch.
Coming as a cornerstone of the Crimson Tide secondary, Branch joins a Lions secondary that has been completely revamped from the last game of the season up to Draft weekend.
He is also the second Alabama player to be selected to Detroit this weekend, along with running back Jahmyr Gibbs.
Brian will join the likes of free agent signings Cam Sutton, Emmanuel Moseley, and CJ Gardner-Johnson along with homegrown Lions defensive back players in Tracy Walker III, Jerry Jacobs and Will Harris.
