Last Friday WWE decided to extend their Friday night show by a half-hour to compete with AEW’s B show and it backfired. The ratings came out today and it’s kind of an embarrassment for WWE. The most important thing for ratings nowadays is the 18-49 demographic because that is what advertisers look at when paying money to run commercials on those shows. Well, AEW beat WWE for the 30 minutes they were head to head in the demo with AEW having 328,000 to WWE’s 285,000. After these ratings came out, Tony Khan let everyone know about it.
Then the reason for this post….
Tony Khan is very passionate about his business, employees, and most importantly fans and he lets this show every day. He wants to be the best company in the world but for a company like WWE to make statement after statement about AEW not being competitive and then announcing a random 30 minute overrun against that said company is quite the decision. WWE Smackdown beat Rampage in total viewers but losing that demo head to head is going to turn heads at TV networks.
The moral of the story is don’t mess with Tony Khan on Twitter because he’s always ready. Just ask Randy Orton and WWE executive Nick Khan.
Then here’s the promo on Nick Khan after Nick said WWE was in talks with New Japan Pro Wrestling.
