August 30, 2020. WWE Payback. That’s when it all began for Roman Reigns.

The returning Roman Reigns inserted himself into the match between Bray Wyatt and Braun Strowman and became the WWE Universal Champion.

Fast forward to now. 435 days. Roman Reigns has held the WWE Universal Championship for 435 days now, which surpassed Cam Punk’s 2012-2013 title reign as the WWE Champion for 434 days.

Roman Reigns has had an amazing run on the blue brand, defeating Jey Uso, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Edge, Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, John Cena, Finn Balor and Brock Lesnar.

His next opponent on Smackdown will be King Xavier Woods. Then it will be against Big E at Survivor Series in the battle of champions.

Up next for Roman Reigns is Brock Lesnar’s 504 day record as the Universal Champion from 2017-2018; coincidentally enough, Roman Reigns ended that title reign for Lesnar at Summerslam 2018.
