Green Bay Packers QB Aaron Rodgers plans to do some isolation and reflection before deciding on his NFL future.
Rogers cites the importance of his upcoming “darkness retreat”, as he mulls over whether he wants to return to the Packers, retire, or request a trade.
Appearing on The Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday, Rodgers indicated that prior to determining his path for the 2023 NFL season, he’ll be going on a “darkness retreat” that includes “four nights of complete darkness.”
Rogers says, that he’ll be alone with his thoughts in a dark room in an unnamed location, and it apparently will occur soon.
McAfee pressed Rodgers for more info on this “darkness retreat” business. Will he be in a cave? Will he be completely alone? Will food be served? Is Rodgers coming on the show next week?
Rodgers didn’t clear all of that up, but did indicate that he’ll be in a single-room “little house” with blacked-out windows, two slots where food is dropped in and no other human contact.
The Packers concluded the 2022 season with an 8-9 record, missing the postseason as Rodgers threw double-digit interceptions for the first time since 2010 and finished with one of his lowest passer ratings (91.1) since becoming a starter.
This is just more strangeness from an odd man. Aaron Rodgers and his world of weird.
