AAF - Alliance Of American

AAF needed emergency $250 million investment IN WEEK 2 |NHL’s Hurricanes Owner Tom Dundon Saves The NEW Football League

Written by TrevStone

This isn’t good… At all. The Alliance of American Football is just two weeks old, but the league is already encountered money problems. Although the new league had a successful debut, bringing in 3.25 million viewers on CBS a number that absolutely destroyed the numbers of people watching the NBA game (Thunder-Rockets) being played at the same time.

Before the second weekend of games something obvious popped up for the league, the money wasn’t there yet… .And without new investors, there was a good chance it was going to miss payroll last Friday.

That’s when Carolina Hurricanes (NHL) owner, Tom Dundon stepped in to provide a $250 million commitment. Dundon will now be named the league’s new chairman. So thank you to Tom Dundon for saving the league.

“Without a new, nine-figure investor, nobody is sure what would have happened,” one source said. “You can always tell people their checks are going to be a little late, but how many are going to show up on the weekend for games when they don’t see anything hit their bank accounts on Friday?”

And you know the crazy thing, last week when I said that it was crazy that Kaepernick was asking for $20,000,000 some of you guy’s said that I was the idiot. No wake up. A new league like this will have its struggles.

It sucks to see. I’m just glad that someone was able to put some more money up to watch it grow. Hopefully this struggle of money doesn’t continue, I mean advertisers have to be paying, right? The one thing I noticed though, some of the stadiums were packed, and then others had no fans there, some more marketing would be great. Let me know AAF if you need some tips, I’ve got some up my sleeve. And I won’t need $1,000,000. Well, unless that’s what you want to pay me. Just shoot me an email and I’ll get everyone of those stadiums PACKED.

But hopefully this league will last in the long run. Because I’ve enjoyed the last couple of weeks of football. Good football at that. Players getting slammed to the ground, harder hits than the NFL would allow. And these guys aren’t being paid anything crazy…. Yet.. Which is awesome to have an actual development league. It would suck to get this excited about a league…. Well maybe some of us. And have it end this quickly.

But then again, we have Vince McMahon and the XFL to look forward to, am I right?

But to be honest, Tom kind of reminds me of Andy King from Fyre Festival. Hahaha. Coming in to try and save the day…..
