The 2020 UEFA Euro will take place in twelve European cities from June 12, 2020, to July 12, 2020. The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) organizes the tournament. Portugal is the reigning champion of the European Championship. Twenty teams qualified for the tournament. The following are six predictions of 2020 UEFA Euro.

England is one of the favorites in Euro 2020. Gareth Southgate took his team to the 2018 World Cup and it was eliminated in the semifinals. England lost 2-1 to Croatia after extra time. Gareth’s squad mostly consisted of young players. Some of them will still be in good form in the next three tournaments. Besides, Jack Grealish, Jadon Sancho, and Trent Alexander-Arnold will boost Southgate’s squad. Yet, England needs to improve its defense to concede few goals. It will face stiff competition from Belgium, France, and the Netherlands.

The Netherlands didn’t compete in the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup and Euro 2016. The Oranje hasn’t won many international games since Everton sacked Ronald Koeman. But the Netherlands is among the top contenders for Euro 2020. Virgil Van Dijk and Mathijs De Ligt will partner at the center half. Arjen Robben, Robin Van Persie, and Wesley Sneijder retired from international football. The Oranje need to score many goals to reach the Euro 2020 finals. Pundits who watch the UEFA Euro Championships can wager on the Oranje.

German performed dismally in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. It was the last team in the Nations League pool and the 2018 World Cup Group F. Die Mannschaft won one out of seven international matches and Joachim Low has been under intense pressure to improve its performance. Germany won seven of its eight games in the qualifiers last year. It has won three UEFA Euro tournaments and reached the semifinals nine times. Germany is in Group F with Portugal and France.

Belgium was the third team in the 2018 World Cup. It has played against top European teams in the past. So, Belgium has a high opportunity of reaching the Euro 2020 semifinals. Dries Mertens, Eden Hazard, and Kevin De Bruyne will represent Belgium. They will pass the ball to Romelu Likaku while Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen will defend the team.

France won’t host any Euro 2020 finals is the reigning World Cup champion. The Netherlands almost eliminated France in the Nations League group stage. Most of France’s players who competed in the 2018 World Cup will play in Euro 2020. They include Kylian Mbappe, Raphael Varane, and Alphonse Areola.

The Azzurri didn’t qualify in the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Roberto Mancini took a young squad to the Nations League. It won 10 games, conceded three goals and scored 37 goals. Italy is in Group A with Wales and Turkey.

UEFA did the 2020 Euro finals draw on November 30, 2019, in Bucharest. Four more teams will qualify through playoff matches this month. Unlike previous European Championship editions, Euro 2020 will take place in 12 countries. The Wembley Stadium in England will host the final match. Belgium, Italy, France, England, Germany, the Netherlands, and Spain are some of the top contenders of the 2020 Euro trophy.
